One of the world’s most talented players, Nick Kyrgios has created quite a name for himself. Often known for his antics, the Australian has been one of the most discussed players in recent years. After the likes of Federer and Nadal, Kyrgios has proved to be a huge crowd puller at the tournaments.

Nick first revealed himself at Wimbledon in 2014. He knocked out then world no. 1 Rafael Nadal in four sets to proceed into the quarter-final that year.

The following season, he made it to the quarter-final again, this time at the Australian Open. Being from Australia himself, he certainly enjoys great support in Melbourne.

Nick Kyrgios Finds a New Fan in Sloane Stephens

Recently, Kyrgios found a fan in American tennis player Sloane Stephens. In a question-and-answer round on Instagram, she was asked about her favorite player on tour. To which, she took the Australian’s name.

The 2017 US Open champion has performed reasonably well at the majors over the years. She has been a finalist at Roland Garros in 2018 and a semi-finalist at the 2013 Australian Open. However, in 2020, Stephens didn’t have the greatest of seasons.

She performed poorly compared to her standards. She lost in the first round at the Australian Open, the second round of the French Open, and the third round at the US Open

Coming back to Kyrgios, the Australian began his season at the ATP Cup. He had a decent performance before falling short in the semi-final. He then went to Melbourne for the first major of the season and beat Russia’s Karen Khachanov in a 5-set thriller. Eventually, he fell victim to Rafa in the fourth-round. He ended his season soon after due to a wrist injury.
