The scrapped off tennis calendar of 2020 has dealt with numerous new changes. With Cincinnati Open relocating to Flushing Meadows, tournaments taking place behind closed doors with COVID-19 measures, and events cutting down their prize money, tennis has witnessed extremities in 2020.
With the season curtaining down in a few days from now, the organizers are preparing for the 2021 season. To tennis players and fans, January is synonymous with the Oceanian nation of Australia.
All the professionals and their teams are used to the Australian trip during the month of January. However, in the year 2021, amidst all the travel restrictions and new normal conventions, Tennis Australia will hold all tennis events in the Victorian capital, Melbourne.

Consequently, by avoiding the mammoth touring in Australia, all players will be quarantined for two weeks in the bubble located in tennis’ global capital in January.
Australian tennis events planning
Generally, in January, the ATP Cup, Adelaide, Brisbane and Hobart International, ASB Classic, and the Australian Open are all held in Oceania. And this year, under the blanket of the pandemic, all events will be relocated to the city of Melbourne, which is home to the prestigious Aussie Slam.
However, in 2021, tournaments of Adelaide, Brisbane and Hobart won’t be staged. Also, the concrete plan and schedule of all events are yet to be released.

The Australian government will personally invite the tennis players for a period of 5 weeks to visit the island country. The invitation would aid them to travel to Australia without any hassles.
“We completely accept that everyone coming from overseas has got to have two weeks in quarantine. What we’re trying to have an agreement on is that we set up a quarantine environment. There, they can train and go between the hotel and the courts in those two weeks,” said Craig Tiley, CEO of Tennis Australia.
