A casual Novak Djokovic dropped on the sets of Late Show with David Letterman in the year 2014. His appearance on the show was right before the US Open 2014. He’s the man behind the revolution of Serbian tennis, and the Serb hails from a non-tennis background. However, his family was associated with sports.
World Number one tennis player Djokovic revealed an amusing story about his parents first meeting on the ski slopes. Novak’s father was a skiing instructor and he gave skiing lessons to his mother. That’s how everything between his parents was started, and yes of course, “skiing runs in his blood.”
Unlike his rivals, Novak’s childhood was threatened by wars and sudden bombings. Once upon a time, access to basic necessities such as milk and bread was also an obstacle to him and his family.

He once claimed his childhood to be a toxic one. “Growing up in a war-torn country is not easy on anyone, most of all the children. They don’t have the coping mechanism as adults do. The impact of toxic environments on their life is tremendous,” he once mentioned.
Also, Letterman mentioned Andre Agassi’s words, where he said “Djokovic is one of the top three players who ever played the sport,” and asked Djokovic’s opinion on the same. He replied, “that’s a big statement and I feel very flattered.”
In the present era of tennis, the 17-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic is arguably the best player of the sport. In December 2019, he was named the player of the decade. And for the years to come, it will be a big challenge for the tennis fraternity to produce a complete player like him.
