World Number two Rafael Nadal recently defeated Italy’s Stefano Travaglia in the third round of the French Open 2020. Nadal dominated yet again winning the match 6-1, 6-4, 6-0. Nadal won a total of 80 points, double of what Travaglia could manage. But what became the highlight of the match was Nadal stammering while speaking French in the post-match presentation after the match. He looked lost which gave the crowd a tonic of laughter.

“I don’t know. I am very happy today,” said a lost Nadal in French.

He cut it short later and said, “No Inspiration today.” What was surprising was that he spoke it in English. To this, the interviewer started laughing and said, “You lost your French there.”

“The inspiration is not here today,” said Nadal again in French and started laughing along with the crowd.

‘Means I have been on the TV for long’- Rafael Nadal on Sebastian Korda having a cat named Rafa

The 12-time French Open champion now proceeds to the fourth round of the French Open 2020. He will now face American player Sebastian Korda on October 4. The young lad has already expressed his admiration for Nadal. Before the game only, the American revealed the name of his cat, ‘Rafa’- a nickname of Nadal.

“That means that I have been on the TV for such a long time. I am 34,” replied Nadal after hearing the news.

He tried to be funny. But, instead of appreciating himself, he sarcastically said that it was not beautiful that he is 34 now.

“That’s another point that is not beautiful. But happy to hear that. I know he’s playing great. I think he has an amazing future, hopefully not yet,” concluded Nadal.

What has been special about Nadal is that he always encourages youngsters. He admitted that the 20-year-old had played quite well in the tournament. He even wished him a great journey ahead.

Korda also looks in great form at the moment. He has already defeated John Isner in the second round and won the third round in straight sets. It will be interesting if he would be able to do what Diego Schwartzman did to Nadal at the Italian Open 2020.
