American tennis player Jack Sock is due to face US Open 2020 winner Dominic Thiem in Round 2 of the Roland Garros. In the first round, he defeated American counterpart Reilly Opelka in straight sets with the final score reading 6-4, 6-4, and 6-3.
In the post-match interview, he took a dig at the World No.3. When asked his thoughts on his coming match against Thiem, he answered that the Austrian played ‘all right’ at the US Open 2020.
“I heard he played all right a few weeks ago in New York,” said the 28-year-old American.

The statement clearly reflected Sock’s confidence at the moment who seems overwhelmed by his victory over Opelka. Maybe, he was trying to play some mind-games with Thiem before the match. It could certainly put some pressure on any big player.

“I heard he’s pretty good on clay”- Jack Sock on Dominic Thiem
Dominic Thiem is arriving in Paris after winning the US Open 2020. In the first round of the French Open 2020, he defeated Marin Cilic in straight sets, winning the match 6-4, 6-3, and 6-3.
“I heard he’s pretty good on clay,” said Sock.
Thiem is undoubtedly great on clay. He has breached the finals of the French Open in the past two editions of the tournament. Unfortunately, he lost to Rafael Nadal both times. The 27-year-old defeated Rafael in the quarters of the Australian Open 2020 but lost to Novak Djokovic in the finals.
In both the Grand Slams held this year, Thiem reached the finals. In such a situation, he is definitely one of the favorites for French Open 2020.
