The Austrian ace Dominic Thiem made an ideal start of 2020 season by stopping the defending finalist Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. With a victory in the semi-finals, the humble tennis player Thiem earned his first-ever spot in the Melbourne final. And he lost to the defending champion Novak Djokovic.
Before the ATP Tour was suspended Thiem reached the career-high ranking of World Number three, and his coach Nicolas Massu stated there’s still room for improvement in his tennis. And World Number three Thiem has bright chances to claim the World Number one rankings.
“I’m very positive, I liked the way Dominic explained. I think he can improve more, he is just 26-years old and number three in the world. I will try to do my best, I’m working with him at his moment,” Massu said on social media.

“I’m a winner and he’s a winner and all this family is supporting him. We are trying to do our best, of course, you are number three in the world and you will have the chance to be number one and you have to win that and work for that.”
The season began with the tennis world predicting a new Grand Slam champion in 2020, and Thiem was just a few games away from turning that prediction into reality. But it was the ‘Melbourne King’ Novak Djokovic lifting up his 17th Slam.
