With the tennis tour experiencing an unusual break, Mutua Madrid Open has announced a virtual tournament this year. From the ATP’s side Rafael Nadal, Alexander Zverev, Andy Murray, etc.. have announced their participation. On Twitter, ATP Tour invited Dominic Thiem and Kei Nishikori to join the league, and yet again, Nick Kyrgios took a cheeky dig.
Instead of virtual tennis, Kyrgios asked them to play other esports alternatives that attract more audiences. “Play Call of Duty or Fortnite so people actually watch or FIFA,” Nick tweeted.
Following the Australian’s tweet, Benoit Paire mocked Kyrgios by suspecting his FIFA skills. “Not sure if you have the level to play a FIFA tournament,” Paire tweeted.
