Due to the coronavirus pandemic, tennis players have been advised to stay at hotels deemed safe by the organizers. However, they can also stay at any house that meets the COVID-19 requirements. That is what Novak Djokovic did at the US Open, and many are wondering whether he will do the same at the 2021 Australian Open.

“It will be interesting to see what he does because at the US Open, Novak got a house. They allowed him to have like a satellite hub, where he got a house, he had to facilitate it and actually put all the COVID conditions around it,” said Australian coach Roger Rasheed.

On arriving in Australia, every player has to undergo a two-week quarantine. If they decide to stay at the hotel, it will become convenient for them to train. This is very important and a good reason for Novak to stay there. Ultimately, it will be his decision to decide where to stay and he will reveal it soon enough.

Novak Djokovic chasing 9th title at Australian Open

Novak may not be sure about his staying arrangements in Melbourne, but he’s definitely sure about his objective, which is to win the title. The Australian Open is one of his favorite events, as he has won it a record eight times. This is an amazing feat, and it would be even more incredible if he wins a 9th title.

If the Serb wins, he will also narrow the Grand Slam race. He is currently three Majors behind record-holders Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. He can reduce the gap to two and it would make this race tighter than ever. Novak definitely wants to do this and hopefully, he can when the event starts on February 8.
