Daughter of legendary boxer Mike Tyson, Milan Tyson has been practicing on-court with French coach Patrick Mouratoglou. This isn’t the first time that the two have been spotted together. Milan has been spotted previously as well, training at Patrick’s academy. What’s more? She has also been seen hitting with rising star Coco Gauff.

Yesterday, the 30th of April, Patrick took to his YouTube channel to give a sneak peek into the practice session of Milan Tyson. The video featured Milan indulging in some heavy rallies, with Patrick standing behind her giving lessons.

The video starts with Milan hitting some balls with her hitting partner. At the end of the rally, Patrick came up to Milan, guiding her about her hitting stance. He explained to her the importance of staying low and solid on her legs while hitting the ball. He also explained to her the importance of pushing the ball with the hand while hitting.

As the training went ahead, Patrick went on guiding Milan on every step, making sure she makes no mistake while playing. He pointed out several important points in tennis that define a player’s game. Some of those were keeping the ball in racket, relaxing the shoulders, staying low on backhands, attacking the ball, stepping forward, and using the bodyweight.

The gracious career of Patrick Mouratoglou

Patrick Mouratoglou is widely considered as one of the most successful coaches of the current lot of coaches. The French rose to fame in 2012 when he became the coach of Serena Williams. The two climbed the ladder of success together as Serena once again reached her peak with Patrick. During her time with Patrick, Serena won 10 Grand Slams and her only Olympic singles gold. Further, she also re-claimed the top spot in the WTA rankings while working with Mouratoglou.

After spending 10 successful years together, Patrick and Serena recently parted ways. Moving ahead in his coaching career, Patrick is currently coaching the former World No. 1 Simona Halep. The two started working together early last month. Training under Patrick for a month, Halep is playing her first tournament with Patrick as coach in Madrid.
