The #8 seed looked untroubled in her quarterfinal against Golubic earlier today. In fact, she continued her blistering run of winning every match in straight sets at Wimbledon with her win over the unseeded Swiss.
Pliskova joined top seed Ashleigh Barty, Angelique Kerber and Sabalenka in the final four. However, her first appearance in the semifinals at Wimbledon made her only the sixth active player to compete in a semifinal at all four Grand Slams.

The World No. 13 joins an illustrious list of players with this feat. This list includes the Williams sisters, Serena and Venus, Victoria Azarenka, Kim Clijsters and Simona Halep. Another interesting point to note is that all six of these players ranked #1 in the world in their careers.

The #8 seed faces a stiff test in the semifinal against Sabalenka on July 8. Earlier today, her Belarussian opponent swept Tunisian Ons Jabeur in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to win her quarterfinal.
While Sabalenka is the #2 seed in this tournament, she didn’t win all her matches in straight sets like Pliskova. However, Pliskova faced unseeded opponents in her run to the semi final unlike Sabalenka. This could prove to be a more difficult challenge for the #8 seed than the opponents she faced earlier in the tournament.
However, the Czech player comes with more experience on the tour than Sabalenka, which could help her on the grass courts at Wimbledon. Should Pliskova beat Sabalenka, she could set up a potential final with either Kerber or Barty on July 10. Can the #8 seed take her first ever Grand Slam at Wimbledon? Only time will tell.
