Well-known watchmaker Richard Mille celebrated the 10th anniversary of their partnership with Nadal this year by creating a limited edition watch. During the French Open this year, Nadal wore this watch in his run to the final where he lost to Novak Djokovic.

While Richard Mille only made 50 pieces, each piece costs a whopping $1.05million. However, one less piece is up for sale after four-time Grammy winner Drake purchased one.

Called the RM 27-04, the famous rapper didn’t hesitate to flaunt it on social media while showing support for Nadal. While he may not be at the ongoing Wimbledon just like Nadal, it might seem clear who his favorite tennis player is on the tour.

Nadal’s ‘unstoppable’ spirit the inspiration behind limited edition watch

One of the unique aspects is the design, with the mesh resembling a tennis racquet. According to Richard Mille, this cable-suspension mechanism is brand new to the field of watchmaking. While it gives the watch an interesting look, it set a new resistance record for their watches with a capability of withstanding accelerations up to 12,000G.

Richard Mille summed up Nadal‘s spirit as their inspiration behind the watch. On their website, they wrote“For Rafael Nadal, ‘unstoppable’ is the word that best expresses the spirit of Richard Mille and his teams. Achieving the impossible.

“This has been the brand’s credo for the past decade in designing the unique pieces worn by the Spaniard on the world’s tennis courts. And the latest product of their partnership, the RM 27-04, is no exception to this golden rule.”

Although the watch will burn holes in many pockets, it will remain a memorable purchase for any buyer.
