Over the years, Novak Djokovic established himself as one of the best players to step foot in tennis. While his performances attracted many sponsors, a watch sponsor surprisingly eluded the Serbian for the last two years.

However, that fact changed earlier today as Swiss watchmaker Hublot announced the World No. 1 as the latest addition to their family.

In 2011, the ‘Djoker’ signed his first watch sponsorship deal Audemars Piguet. After that deal ended, Djokovic signed with Japanese watch manufacturer Seiko. This deal lasted five years, and expired in 2019.

Although the Serbian wore Seiko watches later on, he didn’t sign another watch sponsor in the last two seasons. Just days before the US Open, Hublot made a huge announcement by snapping up the World No. 1.

Along with an announcement on social media, Djokovic spoke to GQ, speaking about his latest partnership. He said“I am very excited to join a brand that appreciates sports and athletics and supports our profession and invests in us athletes.”

During the announcement, the Serbian also plans to wear the Hublot Big Bang Meca-10, in ceramic blue off the court. In addition, he revealed the watch will match his choice of wearing blue at the upcoming US Open.

“It matches my overall style for the tournament,” said the World No. 1. “My shoes and gear will be blue, so I decided to go blue all the way.”
