Tatiana Calderon to get Maiden Run in Mexico for Sauber

Tatiana Calderon will enjoy her maiden Formula 1 test next week at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico when she completes a filming day with Sauber.

Calderon, 25, is the highest-ranking female driver on the motorsport ladder towards F1, and is currently enjoying her strongest season to date in the GP3 Series, having scored points in each of the last three races.

Calderon has worked with Sauber in a development role for the past two years, but will get her long-awaited maiden F1 run-out next week in Mexico, running alongside the Pirelli tyre test that Sauber is conducting.

Teams are permitted two private test runs for promotional activities each year, with Sauber making its final one of the year available to Calderon. The test run will be limited to 100 km, or 23 laps of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

“I am very grateful and excited for the opportunity offered by Alfa Romeo Sauber F1, Escudería Telmex, Telcel, Infinitum and Claro to drive a Formula One car for the first time in my career,” Calderon said.

“Since I started my career in motorsports, my dream and my objective has been to compete at the highest level. It will be an incredible experience to discover the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez from the cockpit of the C37 in Mexico City. As a Latin American driver, there could not be a more special place to make my debut at the wheel of a Formula One car.”
