Early life and family

Viktor Hovland first started playing college golf at Oklahoma State University. He made a breakthrough, winning the Norwegian Amateur Golf Championship. He created history in 2018 when he became the first Norwegian player to win the U. S Open Amateur championship. His win earned him an entry into the 2019 Open Championship, the 2019 Masters Tournament, and the 2019 U.S. Championship. He also tied for 13 places in the 2018 Australian Open.

With that, he became the first Norwegian to win on the PGA Tour. The same year, Viktor also recorded a win at the Mayakoba Golf Classic, his second win on the Tour.
Viktor Hovland also made history on the European Tour in 2021. Following his victory at the BMW International Open, he became the first Norwegian to win on this Tour. In 2022, Hovland rose to World No. 3 on the Official World Golf Rankings after successfully winning the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic.
