The legendary skateboard did not rest on his laurels as he became a very successful entrepreneur, thereafter. According to Celebrity Net Worth, it stands at $140 million. The skater started a skateboarding company named Birdhouse which produced many boards and accessories for the sport. He started a clothing firm in 1998 that aimed to provide skating clothes for children.

Apart from being a legendary skateboarder, Hawk's deal with Activision in 1998 cemented his legacy as one of the greats. By collaborating with the company, both of them launched the video games series 'Tony Hawk Pro Skater' which sold 1.4 billion games to date.

Tony Hawk’s career timeline

The legendary skateboarder became the National Skateboard Association world champion for 12 consecutive years; likewise, won 70 competitions in his career. Hawk invented many skateboarding moves like the gymnast plant, the ollie-to-Indy, the Saran wrap, and the frontside 540-rodeo flip.

However, things changed during the early 90s as skateboarding lost its charm. Hence, he was a pioneer in setting up Extreme Games (later X games) in 1995 as the sport got back its mojo. He won 10 gold, three silver, and two bronze medals in the X Games. Thus, his major career- achievement came when he landed the first-ever documented 900 (skateboarder revolves 900 degrees in the air). Hawk took eleven years to do it and could not hide his excitement after that.
