Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy 2021: Net Worth, Salary, & Endorsements

Widely regarded as the most popular Superstar in AEW, Orange Cassidy has risen through the ranks dramatically. The denim-wearing wrestler is on top of his game and doesn?t seem to be bothered either.

Cassidy has become a star attraction for All Elite Wrestling, which seems to be rising every week. His unique gimmick and wrestling style has seen him grow into a fan-favorite.?

However, before he became the Superstar we know and love, Cassidy was something quite different. In fact, he was something else entirely.

History

Chikara (2004-2018)

Like many famous wrestlers, Cassidy wrestled in Chikara. The wrestling brand is famous for its whacky storylines and free flow of characters.?

The Superstar wrestled under the name ?Fire Ant?. His gimmick was that of a masked star that was known for his agility. Fire Ant took off with the crowd and became stable for Cassidy.

Soon, Fire Ant teamed up with another character known as Worker Ant, forming The Colony, which became the most memorable part of Cassidy?s time in Chikara.

The wrestler chose to stay in one promotion unlike others and gave Chikara 12 years of his career. His small team-up with Worker Ant rose to a faction involving him as Fire Ant, Worker Ant, Silver Ant, and briefly, Thief Ant and Green Ant.?

Known for their unique style and insane gimmick inside the ring, at one point, The Colony was the prime show of Chikara. The group eventually broke down as its members left the promotion.?

Fire Ant was the last member until he too left for greener pastures.?

Independent Wrestling Promotions

During his time in Chikara and after it, Cassidy wrestled in other promotions. He became a two-time Independent Wrestling Champion in 2019, which turned a lot of eyes towards him.

It was during this time that Cassidy debuted his lackadaisical character that wore sunglasses and dawned denim trousers and a jacket. He left behind his Fire Ant gimmick and came out with a fresh look.?

He gained a significant following for this never-seen-before gimmick and finally attracted attention from a big promotion.

AEW (2019-Present day)

Orange Cassidy made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing on May 25, 2019. He teased a feud with Tommy Dreamer which built up the hype for his signing announcement.?

Cassidy spent the rest of the year teaming up with the Tag Team Best Friends and helping them out in their feuds. It was in 2020 that Orange Cassidy emerged as a key part of AEW.?

In February 2020, he ignited a feud against Pac. He made a bigger PPV appearance at Revolution to face his nemesis but was defeated.?

However, it was a win-win as Cassidy was seen by a lot more viewers and was introduced to the public eye. He was also praised all-around for his gimmick and performance.?

Cassidy participated in many other matches to show-off his character and unique skill set. Everyone remained curious to see what he would do next.?

Feud with Chris Jericho

The Superstar then entered a feud against Chris Jericho. The ?Demo God? showed him who was boss at Fyter Fest but lost the rematch on the following episode of Dynamite.

The two carried on their bitter rivalry with golden promos and segments, which sold the comical aspect of Cassidy?s character. He did all of this without uttering a word.?

Cassidy defeated Chris Jericho in a Mimosa Mayhem Match at All Out, which was another unique match stipulation introduced by AEW.

Cassidy is yet to win a title at AEW, but not for lack of trying. He has been defeated twice in the pursuit- once by Brodie Lee, and the next by Cody Rhodes. Both attempts were
