Hendrik Johannes Nicasius de Vries or better known as Nyck de Vries, is a Dutch racing driver who is to make his debut for Scuderia AlphaTauri in 2023. Born on 6 February 1995 in Uitwellingerga, Netherlands, the 27-year-old driver has been a reserve driver for the Mercedes AMG F1 team till 2022.

The Dutchman made his F1 debut in the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. He finished the race in points, which was massively impressive. Ultimately in 2019, de Vries managed to pull up four victories in the F2 season and be crowned as the champion. Apart from these, the Dutch star also took part in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2018-19 with Racing Team Nederland to compete in the LM2 category.

Soon after this, Nyck de Vries joined the Mercedes Benz EQ Formula E team for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons after he didn't land himself an F1 seat. The Dutchman managed to win the championships in his second year in the?electric category.
