He made a statement by defeating Lawler via KO in the second round.
In his UFC career, Diaz has fought several elite fighters such as Frank Shamrock, Carlos Condit, Paul Daley, and BJ Penn, to name a few. Meanwhile, he claimed the inaugural Strikeforce welterweight title by defeating Marius Zaromskis in January 2010. He then successfully defended the title three times before coming back to the UFC.
