Where is the 2024 NBA All-Star Game?
This year, the All-Star game will be held in Indianapolis at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the home turf for the Indiana Pacers. It isn't the first time the city welcomes the NBA's most action-packed weekend.
The first time Indiana hosted the game was in 1985 at the Hoosier Dome. The Western Conference won over the East 140-129 in the 35th edition of the All-Star game. It was characterized by multiple all-time greats such as Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas.
What is the format for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game?
There will be significant changes to the All-Star game this season. Rather, the NBA is going back to its roots, adapting the traditional format once again.
There won't be a draft battle between the two All-Star captains anymore. Also, the game will return to its typical four quarters of 12 minutes each without the 'target score' system to decide the winner. However, each quarter victory still counts. The winner of every quarter will secure a sizeable donation to a charitable organization of their choosing.
Since the old captain draft has been ruled out, the NBA returns to the very prominent East vs West battle.
