Maurizio Sarri

Maurizio Sarri?s Net Worth, Salary and Endorsements

Italian manager, Maurizio Sarri is currently the manager of the Chelsea football team. Admittedly, the 60-year old never played on a professional level, but he played at an amateur level.

He started his managerial career with various lower league teams. Then, in 2012, Serie B side, Empoli, recruited him to lead them. In just his second season, he was able to guide them to a promotion into the Serie A.

In 2015, he signed for home club, Napoli, in place of Rafael Benitez. Once again, he made an almost instant impact when Napoli finished 2nd behind Juventus.

Finally, in 2018, he was appointed the manager of Chelsea, following the sacking of Antonio Conte.

Achievements

Sarri is known for his intelligence, attention to detail, and his meticulous approach as a manager when it comes to preparing matches during weekly training sessions. He often has his team prepare many different plays on set-pieces.

One of?his trademark tactics is an organised four-man back-line. He normally requires the defense to be synchronised in their movements, anticipate plays, and look at the ball as a point of reference, not their opponents. Other key elements of Sarri's line-up are the presence of a?deep-lying?playmaker?who dictates play in front of the back-line.

Maurizio Sarri's salary is around $3 million per year

Controversies

Sarri is a known smoker and there was even a special smoking section built for him in 2018 during Napoli's Europa League tie.

In 2016, compatriot and newly appointed Italy national team manager, Roberto Mancini accused him of homophobic slurs.?Sarri was consequently fined ?20,000 and banned for two Coppa Italia matches for the offence.

Two years later,?Sarri came under further criticism in the media when he was accused of making sexist comments when responding to a female reporter.
