Luis Suarez was born on 24th January 1987 in the small town of Salto in Uruguay. He is the fourth child among seven siblings of Rodolfo Suarez and Sandra Diaz. He has 4 brothers and 2 sisters named, Paolo, Maximiliano, Diego, Giovanna, Leticia, and Facundo.

Suarez's early years were marked by a deep passion for soccer. This is clear in the way he played  he played youth football at Sportivo Artigas when he was less than 7 years old. His parents even allowed him to skip school to attend soccer practices. When Suarez was just seven years old, his parents decided to move to Montevideo, and then played soccer for Urreta.

It was during this time that Suarez faced a major setback in the form of a foot injury caused by a car accident.
