Jack Draper’s Early Life and Family

Jack Draper was born in Sutton, London, on 22 December 2001. He was raised in adjacent Ashtead. His father, Roger Draper, is the former CEO of Sport England and the Lawn Tennis Association, and his mother, Nicky Draper, is a former junior British Tennis Champion who later became a coach.

Draper attended Parkside School in Stoke d’Abernon, Cobham from the ages of four to eleven. He was coached by Justin Sherring. Jack’s brother, Ben, played college tennis at the University of California-Berkeley and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Wake Forest.

The wall was the first opponent for Jack Draper as he started hitting balls when he was 3 years old. He began at the academy where his mother was the coach and blossomed into the player we see today. The young gun reached a junior grand slam final at the 2018 Wimbledon, where he lost to Tseng Chun-hsin in three sets and went on to finish the year with a career-high junior ranking of No. 7.

Draper made his official ATP debut in the 2021 Miami Open, he had to withdraw from the clash due to an injury. He reached the quarterfinal of the Queen’s Club Championship, beating Jannik Sinner on the way. He made his top 250 debut in the year and began his journey in the sport. In 2022, Draper earned his first victories in the Masters and Slams, the Miami Open, and the Wimbledon Championships, respectively.

He earned his best Master’s results to date in the Canadian Open, making it to the quarterfinal. He beat the then-ranked 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas on the way to his first top-10 victory. His efforts launched him to the top 50, ending the year ranked 42.
