Nicknamed "Boogie," DeMarcus Cousins is now into his 11th season in his National Basketball Association (NBA).  He was born on August 13, 1990 in Mobile, Alabama. He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats, where he was an All-American in 2010. He left Kentucky after one season, and was drafted as the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings. After his first season, he was named in the NBA All-Rookie First team.

After representing the Kings for eight seasons, Cousins played a season each for the New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors, before joining Los Angeles Lakers before the 2019/20 season.

In his 12-year NBA career, he has been an NBA All-star in four consecutive seasons- thrice when playing for the Kings and once playing for the Pelicans.
