Born in Naperville, Illinois, Blaydes, born on the 8th of February, 1991, was brought up as a proud American. The fighter grew up with his share of challenges in a broken household, periled by divorce. While details about his mother are unknown, Blaydes has shared about his father and two brothers in several instances. Seemingly, except himself, his entire family is on the police force, notably, his father and younger brother in Chicago, and his older brother in Dallas.

After that, in just over three years in the UFC, Blaydes has picked up notable victories over the likes of Alistair Overeem, Mark Hunt, Junior dos Santos, and Alexander Volkov.
