All about the wrestling career of Cody Rhodes

July 16, 2007 marked Cody Rhodes' debut in WWE as he fought against Randy Orton in the prime-time show Raw. One of the prominent moments in his wrestling career came in 2008 when he formed a faction named Legacy alongside DiBiase and Orton. Despite forming partnerships with different wrestlers, Rhodes failed to find a proper footing in the world's biggest wrestling promotion. In 2013, he also formed a team with his elder brother Dustin, and the two defeated Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to win the WWE Battleground 2013, followed by a victory in the WWE Tag Team Championship.

In 2014, the wrestler rebranded himself as Stardust, a title used by his father at some point in his career. However, despite the accolades, Cody Rhodes was not satisfied with his role in WWE and requested to leave in 2016. Following his departure from the company, AEW saw his massive potential and signed him. After giving him a new look and an excellent character, Cody Rhodes looked evergreen. He was also the Executive Vice President of the promotion.

He held the AEW TNT Championship twice in 2020, losing to Brodie Lee and Darby Allin. However, on December 25 at the Holiday Bash episode of Rampage, Rhodes defeated Sammy Guevara to win the TNT Championship for a record 3rd time. On February 15, 2022, Rhodes left AEW.

It was a golden period for the wrestler as he participated in various promotions, including ROH, Impact Wrestling, etc. Meanwhile, it was a homecoming for Rhodes after six years as he participated in WrestleMania 38 and defeated Seth Rollins to capture all the headlines. What followed was an impressive performance by the star at WrestleMania 39 to challenge Roman Reigns for the title.

However, he failed to create a history and lost the marquee match. It was not the end of the story for the icon as the odds were in his favor to work his charm and defeat Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
