William Clyde "Chase" Elliott II, or Chase Elliott, as he is popularly known, is an American racing driver. He won the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series, becoming the third-youngest racer to do so. Elliott primarily competes in the NASCAR Cup series for Hendrick Motorsports and is a six-time 'Most Popular Driver' winner consecutively.

Born on November 28, 1995, Chase Elliott is a Georgia native and currently resides in Dawsonville. His father is former NASCAR Cup Series driver and 16-time MPD award winner Bill Elliott. His mother, Cindy K Elliott, is truly the backbone of Chase Elliott's racing career. Chase Elliott's parents have been instrumental in helping their son reach where he is today.

Chase Elliott graduated from King's Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta, Georgia, in May 2014. The second-generation NASCAR driver has two siblings, both half-sisters, namely, Brittany Elliott and Monica Elliott. While Junior Elliott has been raising temperatures on a racetrack, both his siblings chose to stay away from motorsports.

Chase Elliott has been associated with racing since his teenage days. But his golden days arrived in 2010 when, at just 15 years of age, Elliott won 12 events in a single year and featured in the Top 10 a staggering 38 times. He was also named the Georgia Asphalt Pro Late Model Series Rookie of the Year. The very next year, the driver went on to win his first Snowball Derby, thereby becoming the race's youngest winner. And that's not all. At just 18 years of age, in 2013, Chase Elliott became the first-ever driver to win all four of the US's largest short track races, namely, the All-American 400, the Winchester 400, the World Crown 300, and the Snowball Derby.

He also was getting involved in stints in the ARCA circuit around the same time and, in 2013, with his Pocono Raceway win, Elliott became the youngest winner in ARCA superspeedway history.

The driver slowly rose through the ranks to reach his final destination, NASCAR. After a brief stint in the K & N Pro Series, the driver finally made his debut in one of the top 3 factions of the stock car racing organization, the Craftsman Truck Series, in 2013. Driving for Hendrick Motorsports, the driver made his Truck debut at Martinsville Speedway where he finished P6.

The following year, the driver, for the first time in his career, started his Xfinity Series career and made his well-deserved debut at the Daytona International Speedway and finished P15. But his true calling finally arrived in 2015 when he made participated in the NASCAR Cup Series. Barring his first year, the driver has participated in the division full-time since 2016. And boy did he show consistent results. While he finished tenth in standings in 2016, in the following year, he finished 5th. His most notable year came in 2020 when he clinched the Cup Series Championship for the first time in his career.

Chase Elliott’s partnerships and endorsements

Ever since Chase Elliott entered into the Cup Series, the driver hasn't had to worry about sponsorships and has had big names backing him. The National Automotive Parts Association(NAPA) was one of the very first to lend their support as they signed a three-year deal, to be a primary sponsor, with Elliott ahead of his 2016 full-time Cup debut.

Later, in 2020, Hooters signed Chase Elliott as its brand ambassador in a multi-year deal for its Hooters Spirits line. The brand Elliott was a two-race primary sp0nsor in 2017 and one race in 2019. Additionally, they also appeared in three more races in 2022, including the World Wide Technology Raceway, and two NASCAR Cup Series playoff races at Bristol Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The brand is also set to appear in the 2024 season in three races.

Coca-Cola also joined Chase Elliott's team in 2023 as the official beverage partner. The brand appeared as an associate sponsor for the #9 team in select races, starting with the 2023 Daytona 500. With an average finish of 13.05, Chase Elliott has 18 victories in his Cup Series career, which includes 152 Top 10s and 12 pole positions. As for NASCAR's third faction, the Truck Series, the driver has three wins, 15 Top 10s, and three poles.

Chase Elliott has several memorable records to his name. At 22 years, 10 months, and nine days old, the driver became the youngest winner at Dover Motor Speedway in October 2018 after beating seasoned NASCAR veterans like Denny Hamlin (P2), Joey Logano (P3), Kurt Busch (P5) and the reigning Dover Motor Speedway winner from earlier that year, Kevin Harvick (P6).

Another record that the driver succeeded in getting was when he won on the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway track in the Cup Series in 2018, thereby becoming the youngest winner. Apart from that, Chase Elliott is also the youngest winner at the Darlington Raceway in the Xfinity Series.

After just four full-time seasons in NASCAR's top division, Chase Elliott clinched the 2020 Cup Series Championship at 24 years, 11 months and 11 days old. He was the third youngest Cup champion in NASCAR history after beating Brad Keselowski(P2), Joey Logano(P3), and Denny Hamlin(P4) that year.

Even off the racetrack, Chase Elliott has a variety of accolades to showcase. Following in his father Bill Elliott's footsteps, the HMS driver continues to be the reigning Most Popular Driver Award winner with six consecutive wins. In 2016, he took home the Rookie of the Year honor in the Cup Series after securing 10 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes in 36 starts, including a pair of runner-up finishes, both at Michigan International Speedway. He also won two poles that year.

Chase Elliott was also named as one of the 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023 on the stock car racing organization's 75th Anniversary alongside Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Kevin Harvick, among others.

 Chase Elliott’s playoff heartbreak

As a Cup Series driver, it is certainly not easy to keep up consistency. However, Chase Elliott seemed to be quite promising on that front with regular playoff appearances since his debut season. However, come 2023, an unfortunate injury took away his playoff chances. The driver was reportedly snowboarding in Colorado when he suffered from a fractured tibia in his left leg. Subsequently, he missed six races and had to be substituted by Josh Berry.

2023 wasn't really Chase Elliott's year. On top of missing multiple races in the Cup Series, the driver also faced a one-race suspension from NASCAR for intentionally wrecking Denny Hamlin during the Coca-Cola 600 in May. The incident occurred at the Charlotte Motor Speedway when the two drivers were driving side by side on Lap 186. After Hamlin squeezed Elliott into the wall, the #9 driver retaliated by hitting the rear of Hamlin's No. 11 Toyota.

Chase Elliott's rise to popularity has been palpable. After a blistering performance during his rookie season, Chase Elliott was honored as a cover star in his state Georgia's official publication. He graced the August 2016 edition of Georgia Magazine in a story titled, "Like father, like son". He was also the cover star for Athlon Sports in 2018 as "NASCAR's next superstar" and again in 2020 in the NASCAR season preview edition. He was also featured on the cover of the video game NASCAR Heat 5 in 2020.  The game was available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One devices, and PC via stream.

Chase Elliott was one of the voices in the Cars 3 movie, that was released in 2017. He was one of the four next generation drivers and his character was named Chase Racelott.
