Callum John Smith is an English professional boxer from Liverpool. He is one of the best fighters in the division with the TBRB and ESPN ranking him at #4 among Super-middleweights.

The scouse fighter held a number of titles in the division and is the former WBA (Super) and The Ring Super-middleweight champion of the world.

He also won the 2018 World Boxing Super-series 2018, in the Super-middleweight category. Smith goes by the nickname ‘Mundo’ in the sport.

Smith’s interest in the sport started at an early age. He is the youngest of 4 brothers, all of whom are now professional boxers.

Smith started boxing at 9 in the Rotunda ABC gym in Liverpool. Prior to becoming a professional, Callum Smith had a fairly successful amateur career.

He won three national titles, three AIBA titles, and even a Commonwealth Silver medal in 2010. However, he never managed to achieve his ultimate goal and represent his country at the Olympics.

Callum Smith turned professional in 2012, signing with Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn. The Englishman has since scaled the heights of the division and has won multiple titles.

According to BoxRec, Smith’s record stands at a fantastic 27-1. The unbeaten fighter has won 19 of his bouts via knockout, which gives him a knockout percentage of 67%.

Smith, who made his professional debut against Dan Blackwell in 2012, won on points and has not looked back since.

'Mundo' has won multiple titles at the National and European level including the likes of WBC International Super-Middleweight Title, WBC Silver Super-Middleweight Title, British Super-Middleweight Title, European Super-Middleweight Title.

On the world stage, Smith won the WBA (Super) and Ring Magazine super-middleweight titles in 2018 when he beat George Groves in 2018.

The scouser has also had a few famous fights like his title-defense against John Ryder. However, his toughest came in 2020 against Canelo Alvarez.

Despite the devastating loss to the Mexican, Smith has set up an exciting 2021 with the prospect of moving up to light-heavyweight.

The champion even has the word ‘Autism’ printed on his shorts for all his fights.
