Assassin's Creed Valhalla 2021: System requirements, gameplay, and release date

The twelfth major installment and the twenty-second edition of the popular gaming franchise, Assassins Creed Valhalla, is the latest title developed by Ubisoft. The developers announced the game in April 2020, two and a half years after its development started. Since then, it took them about seven more months to finally release the game.

The release of Assassins Creed Valhalla coincided with the launch of latest consoles by Microsoft and Sony. It was one of the most-awaited games in the launch lineup of the consoles. The game is a successor to the 2018 title Assassins Creed Odyssey. Furthermore, it follows a fictional story of a Viking invasion of Britain in 873 AD.

Ubisoft launched the game on November 10th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Windows, and Google Stadia. On the other hand, for the PlayStation 5, it released on November 12, owing to the slightly late launch of Sony's next-gen console.

Players can download the game from the Microsoft and Playstation stores for the respective consoles, with the standard edition costing $59.99 on both platforms. PC users have two different choices for Assassins Creed Valhalla download. They can either grab the game from the Epic Store for $43.99 or the Ubisoft Store for EUR 59.99.

The file size of Assassins Creed Valhalla is 45 GB on all the platforms except for the Xbox One for which the file is 44 GB.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay and story

It is an open-world action-adventure game, which means players can access all of Assassins Creed Valhalla map. At any point of time, players can travel to any location in the game. Valhalla is split into two parts, a main storyline, and side missions. Players assume the role of the protagonist. Eivor, a Viking raider leads his fellow Vikings against Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. Players can choose from a variety of weapons, armors, tattoos, and other physical traits as well. It follows a basic storyline of every Assassins Creed story where Eivor becomes embroiled in the conflict between Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order.

The popular eagle vision from the franchise also returns. In Valhalla is is called the "Odin Sight", and the player has a companion raven Synin. The raven is extremely useful for scouting nearby areas. Moreover, the game is strictly a single player affair. There, it doesn't have an online co-op mode or a multiplayer mode.
