Aaron Gordon is a six-foot-nine forward who plays for Denver Nuggets in the NBA. Gordon was born on September 16, 1995, in San Jose, California, to Shelly and Ed Gordon. He was the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. 

Gordon’s father Ed played college basketball for San Diego State and his siblings Drew and Elise also took up the sport professionally. Gordon attended Archbishop Mitty High School in California, where he enjoyed an incredible final two seasons. 

Gordon averaged 21.6 points as a senior and was selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2013, where his 24 point performance earned him the MVP award. 

The athletic forward then committed to play for the Arizona Wildcats, where he spent one year before declaring for the NBA Draft. Gordon averaged 12.4 points per game as a freshman and shot 49.5% from the field.

Gordon was selected by the Orlando Magic with the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He evolved to become an integral part of the franchise since his rookie season with the team. Gordon averaged 9.2 points and 6.5 rebounds as a sophomore, but his numbers quickly went up in the subsequent years. 

The explosive forward helped the Magic reach the playoffs in 2019 and 2020, but they failed to get past the first round. Gordon participated in the 2020 Slam-Dunk Contest and finished runner-up behind Derrick Jones Jr.

Then in the mid-season of 2020-21, the Magic traded Aaron to the Denver Nuggets in return for Gary Harris, RJ Hampton, and a protected 2025 first-round pick. In the 25 games for the Nuggets, the 6'8" forward averaged 12.4 points.
