Brisbane Heat opener Tom Banton smashed five consecutive sixes in the match against Sydney Thunder on Monday in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2019/20.
The match at Sydney Showground Stadium in Sydney had a delayed start with rain playing spoilsport. The playing conditions were revised as the match was reduced to 8-overs a-side.
With just two overs of powerplay, Tom Banton and Chris Lynn did not bother starting with any niceties. Banton took the strike and the very first ball sailed over the square leg boundary, before scoring two boundaries off the next two balls.

His partner Chris Lynn took charge in the next over which returned 21 runs and the score after two overs read 40 without any wicket. In these 12 balls, Sydney had already dropped Lynn twice, and things looked ominous.
It went beyond imagination in the fourth over, when Tom Banton smashed Arjun Nair for five consecutive sixes.

With the blows, Banton reached his half-century in just 16 balls, which is the second-fastest in BBL.
Banton, 21, is certainly a prospect to look out for. Many were excited to see him in the BBL after he had impressed in the Vitality T20 Blast in 2019. He also recently earned an England cap. In his first few matches, Banton has already showed signs of why he is such a highly anticipated cricketer.
His innings in Monday took Brisbane Heat to 81 in just four over, before he was caught out on 56.
A video of the five consecutive sixes was obtained from BBL on Twitter.
