India’s stylish left-handed batsman, Suresh Raina, set a unique IPL reason in the tenth season of the cash rich league. In the current season, Raina has scored 318 runs in the 10 matches played so far. With this, he became the first ever player in the history of league to score more than 300 runs in each edition. Raina, who had been in his prime form earlier in 2010, 2013 and 2014, aggregated more than 500 runs in each of those edition. Suresh Raina had been with the Chennai Super Kings since the first step of the league and is now associated with Gujarat Lions after CSK sustained a 2-year ban. In his maiden season for the new franchise, the UP batsman missed the 400 run mark by a single run, there by ending on 399.
The classy southpaw has been a marquee player for the CSK not only for the runs that he has scored while playing for the franchise, but also for his remarkable fielding and the short spells that provided the break through.With 520 runs in 2010, Raina was the top scorer for the side. Raina has lifted the silverware twice while playing for CSK in 2010 and 2011.After being appointed the skipper for Gujarat Lions, Raina led the side to end as the table toppers. Suresh Raina was crowned with the Orange Cap this season, only to be snatched by the Aussie opener David Warner.
