

Recently Jaryd “Summit1g” Lazar completely lost his cool over Twitch streamers competing against each other to be the first one to play, and stream, new singleplayer games. Summit1g started his rant while playing GTA V on stream when fans asked him about streaming The Last of Us 2, the latest PlayStation exclusive. Later, he even went on to tweet his opinions about early release singleplayer games. He also mentioned that he will not be playing The Last of Us 2 right now.

Summit1g kept it real and just shot his opinions about streamers engaging in a “rat race” on Twitch. He opined that singleplayer games are meant for relaxation and these streamers who are participating in this race should “chill.”

Summit1g has been regularly streaming GTA V now. On one such stream, he was asked by a fan whether he will be playing/streaming The Last of Us 2. He replied that seeing so many streamers already playing that game has pissed him off. Summit1g made it clear that he does not want to join the race of streamers. He said that watching so many streamers rushing to play a new game left a “sour taste” in his mouth. Now, this is really strange since he really loved the first one.

Summit goes on to add that even old and established streamers are participating in this “competition.” He also said that rushing like this for a singleplayer game does not make any sense. In the case of a multiplayer game, there might have been an excuse because then the players would have to check the settings and other stuff.

“Early release single-player games make me wanna throw up”
In another tweet, Summit expresses his displeasure towards the early access of singleplayer games which cause streamers to rush to be the ones streaming it.

Not unpopular. Streamers are entertainers, not reviewers or journalists. Zero reason for it other than privilege and special treatment. I’m all for cheering people on when they get a W, but it’s entirely unnecessary.

Summit asks these streamers to “chill” and grab a coffee. He tells them to take it easy and not rush into it the way they are. As for the big streamers, Summit suggests that they sit back and let others enjoy the gameplay and then hop on the game.
