The 2015 Sudirman Cup is set to kick off from 5th of May and run till the 17th. This is the fourteenth edition of the Mixed team badminton event and will be hosted in Dongguan,China. The host country has been the most successful nation in the biennial tournament, bagging 9 titles. And they have received a boost with the return of Super Dan to almost his best and the juggernaut of Chen Long. Malaysia too, will fancy their chances with Lee Chong Wei’s ban ending by the time the matches start. Korea brings one of the best doubles teams and hence has a big chance. Indian players too are enjoying a great run, with Srikanth and Saina Nehwal playing the best badminton of their life. They have big names as team-mates, with giant killers Prannoy, Sindhu, Kashyap and the mercurial doubles pairing of Ashwini Ponnappa/Jwala Gutta. Find below the draw for the 2015 edition.

The teams in Group 1 will only be able to lift the trophy as they enter the knockout stages after the league matches. The teams in Group 2,3 and 4 will only fight for promotion to the higher groups, while teams finishing last in each group will be relegated to lower ones.

The Sudirman Cup has a history of never being won by a Non- Asian country. With Denmark and England fielding strong teams this time around, this jinx might be broken. Patriotism will run high as the nations battle it out to decide the best badminton team.
