John Cena, in his "Super Cena" mode, paid the bills for the retired army veteran and brought a smile to his face by taking a selfie together.
After the picture went viral, the veteran's daughter spoke about it in an interview, "‘My dad was behind him in the checkout line. They were chatting and John thanked my dad for his service [after] seeing his SeaBees hat. John secretly paid for all of his groceries. My dad didn’t even know until he was being checked out and the cashier said, ‘John paid for your groceries.’ The bill was around $100.”
The veteran's daughter also mentioned that her father had been in low spirits since the loss of his wife years ago, and Cena's gesture provided him with a reason to smile once more.
