Venus and Serena Williams’ Step Mom Launches Final Attempt to Salvage ‘King’ Richard’s $1.45 Million Florida Mansion

Lakeisha Graham, the stepmother of Venus and Serena Williams, has had a rough go of it ever since she and Richard Williams divorced. After eight years of marriage, Lakeisha and Richard decided to end their marriage in 2017. Lately, Lakeisha’s been going through a rough patch, due to her fight, to keep the Williams sisters’ childhood home.

What is the Legal fight about?

Richard and Lakeisha settled into the Florida house where Serena and Venus had spent their formative years. Nevertheless, in 2017, Richard claimed that his wife faked his signature to remove his name from the property records. And then recently, Lakeisha’s legal fight to save her Florida property took a major hit.

Lakeisha Graham's one last effort to save her Florida property.

Serena Williams’ stepmother Lakeisha Graham will lose their childhood home after defaulting on a $500,000 mortgage if a bankruptcy tribunal doesn’t approve her repayment plan. The 42-year-old has filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy protection three times since 1995.

Lakeisha forged Richard's signature.

Reportedly, the ex-wife of Richard Williams forged his signature so that she could borrow a $250,000 loan from David Simon and use the money to launch a trucking business. However, David Simon has pushed for the property to be sold due to its dilapidated condition. Simon believes the property is uninsurable due to extensive roof leaks and other issues.

Serena Williams has completely shifted her focus to family & friends post-retirement.

Serena Williams recently took a trip to Mexico. In honor of her niece’s engagement, Serena and her family spent some time at a resort where they had a great time. The 41-year-old has now been able to devote more time to her family and career after retiring from tennis.
