Jackie Chan has been married to the love of his life for more than four decades now. He met the Taiwanese actress Joan Lin in 1981, and after a year of knowing each other, the couple soon decided to tie the knot.
Jaycee revealed that he wanted to pursue the same career as his father. This devastated Joan, and she couldn’t hold it any longer and started crying.
Joan said, “The movie business has already taken away my husband. I don’t want to lose my son, too.” This revelation startled the actor. Chan, who was busy making movies, then understood that he had been failing to make a good husband.
Chan has written, “We’d made a rule for our marriage early on that we would never sulk privately about little things, but just say outright whatever was bothering us. When I wasn’t away filming, we had a once-a-week standing date to do just that.”
