Maximize Your Gym Progress with These 4 Essential Morning Routine Tips from a Bodybuilder

Holly Baxter, an international award-winning physique athlete, said she's learned from both personal and professional experience the importance of a morning routine.

Create a morning routine

Holly credits a morning routine in helping her deal with burnout, as it gives her more time for introspection with her focus and concentration improved.

Set your schedule and stick to it

"I hear so many people say 'I didn't have time to move today'. It shouldn't be 'if' I have time to exercise, it's when am I going to fit it on my schedule," Baxter said.

Stay off your phone at the gym

To maximize your workout potential, you have to keep distractions aside. "I've seen noticeable improvements to my strength," Baxter said.

Take breaks and learn to say 'no'

"I work in sprints. There are designated times when I know a few weeks are going to be difficult but after that, I'm going to intentionally take some time and say no to things that aren't essential so I can take time to recharge," she said.
