1972 was significant in a number of ways. Wilt Chamberlain was a big part of why Wilt's Lakers had a 33-game winning streak and were an unbeatable force. A testament to the dominance of the era is the fact that this streak has yet to be matched in the NBA. Similar to how Babe Ruth helped the Yankees, Chamberlain's influence extended beyond the court. Despite having 69 victories that year, it wasn't the intended outcome. They aimed to take home the trophy this year.
