Tony Stewart’s Fierce Outburst Exposes Joe Gibbs & Richard Childress' Questionable Racing Talent

NASCAR

Stewart-Haas Racing driver Kevin Harvick announced that this would be his final season with the team. Hence, Tony Stewart has already announced the next driver.

Meanwhile, he took a dig at Joe Gibbs and Richard Childress regarding their driver selection in the Cup Series.

Who will replace Harvick at SHR?

\
After Harvick’s announcement, Tony Stewart arranged a press conference and announced that JR Motorsports driver Josh Berry will take Harvick’s place in the #4 team. He also announced that Rodney Childers will be Berry’s crew chief.

Will Berry find a sponsor?

Meanwhile, the main problem for Berry is finding a proper sponsor. Harvick’s primary sponsor is Anheuser-Busch, who could also leave the team with him. Speaking about it, Stewart said, “We’re having discussions internally with current sponsors, and then we have a lot of potential sponsors that are interested in this program as well. So, nothing to announce on that side yet, but there are a lot of conversations going on right now.”

Stewart took a dig at Gibbs and Childress

While announcing Berry, Stewart said, “I’m not interested in some kid’s father coming and buying their way into the Cup Series. I have zero interest in that… We want guys that earn their way that work hard that understand the values that take to be a top-tier driver; not one that just got his high school diploma and now all of sudden he’s a Cup driver.” Notably, Gibbs’ 20-year-old grandson Ty and Childress’s grandson, Austin Dillon are racing for their respective teams.
