Kyle Busch is moving to Richard Childress Racing this season. Ty Gibbs will be replacing him at Joe Gibbs Racing. However, the biggest question that people have is if Ty Gibbs will be able to fill in those big shoes of Busch.
In a recent episode of Door Bumper Clear, Brett Griffin questioned if Ty Gibbs is ready to replace Kyle Busch. To this, Jamie McMurray replied; “I would have said prior to getting him in the 23XI car, a 100%, right?”
He explained; “He (Ty) has won 11 of 51 Xfinity series races. A pretty similar track record to Kyle Busch. He started outing Cup and I am like ‘Oh yeah! He is legit.’ But it didn’t seem like he kept getting better. If anything, he actually got worse.”
