Kyle Busch Uncharacteristically Sides With Chase Elliott, Slamming Bubba Wallace Insider’s Demand

NASCAR

The Chase Elliott-Denny Hamlin crash at Charlotte Motor Speedway has garnered a lot of reaction from all around the world. Earlier, Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, talked about Elliott losing his playoff eligibility.

Recently, 2-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch showed support for Elliott, as he had a different opinion than Kraft.

Elliott’s suspension after an intentional crash

After intentionally crashing into Hamlin, Elliott received a 1-race suspension. Hence, he will miss the race at the World Wide Technology Raceway. As per the latest report, Elliott has been granted a waiver and will be eligible for the playoffs. Although many people supported the suspension, many people wanted stricter punishment, like Freddie Kraft.

Freddie Kraft wanted Elliott to lose his playoff eligibility

In the ‘Door Bumper Clear’ podcast, Kraft said, “You should lose whatever playoff eligibility you’ve already guarded. You shouldn’t, your wins should not count, you have to win again or point your way back in. You have to make this hurt to make these guys to stop f***ing doing this because obviously, it didn’t stop when Bubba got suspended last year.”

Kyle Busch had a different opinion

In a recent interview, Busch said, “I don’t think wrecking somebody on purpose should deter a playoff position. I think one race penalty is plenty. I think that’s fine, you get to sit out and you have to deal with the repercussions of your sponsor and your team and all the rest of that stuff. Trust me, I’ve been there.”
