There are no Plans for the Development of Destiny 3, As of now

Recently Destiny 2 developer Bungie went through some heavy Lay offs. But those lay offs have opened the door to some very heavy new revelations.

It has been revealed that Bungie was in a bad state when Sony acquired the studio. They were really pushing for this acquisition.

While Destiny 2 seems to be doing alright, there have been a bunch of issues this game is facing.

Its player count has dropped significantly and the income this developer was earlier getting from Destiny 2 has dropped significantly.

And that's why Destiny currently has no plans of developing a third game in the series. They seem to be more focused on their upcoming PS5 exclusive Marathon which has already been rejected by a bunch of streamers.
