UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic is apparently paying no heed to Daniel Cormier and his constant attempts at making him sign an early contract.

DC has been rallying for a conclusion to their trilogy for quite some time now. And it’s not like Stipe doesn’t want to give DC the fight. However, prevailing circumstances hinder the possibility of a trilogy within a close bracket of time.

This is because Stipe has not really been able to train a lot. Even though he emerged the victor against DC the last time they locked horns, he suffered a torn retina. The treatment for the same took quite some time. And then, when he finally started training upon healing, the coronavirus pandemic shook the entire globe.

Apparently, Ohio, Stipe’s home state, has it much harsher in terms of the regulations and restrictions in place. Addressing the same, Stipe said in an interview with MMA Fighting,

“I don’t know what people want from me really. Everyone’s like, ‘he’s holding the division’. And I’m like, ‘how am I holding up the division?’ Other guys are saying, ‘We can train.’ Well, good for you! You live in a different state, you have different regulations!”

Stipe Miocic apparently laid waste to Daniel Cormier’s attempts of an early fight by not paying attention!

Carrying on with the interview, Miocic said,

“My coach, no joke, shut his gym down. He wasn’t taking any dudes, no one’s paying anything cause it’s not fair to everyone. They had a bunch of stuff outside the gym and a couple [of] people, like five or six people were working out together, they were even six feet apart and someone saw that and reported it and he got cited by the CDC. That’s how strict they are. So everyone can just shut up cause they’re idiots.”

Shifting focus to DC, Stipe said he doesn’t really care about what DC has to say. While DC keeps calling Stipe out and advises him to set up a gym at home and whatnot, here’s what Stipe has to say.

“I don’t care. I really don’t care what his [Cormier’s] opinion is. Never did. Honestly, he says one thing and then contradicts himself all the time. Apparently I’m not a champ. He just calls his own shots. Whatever. Everyone else is talking. Saying vacate or defend. Whatever, I can’t make everybody happy or anybody happy. I don’t care at this point. Stop crying.”

What do you think should the next step be for Stipe in the Heavyweight Division?
