The former coach of the American skyscraper, John Isner and the present player representative for ATP, Justin Gimelstob has landed himself in trouble due to engagement in assaulting the co-founder of Akamai Technologies, Randall Kaplan in October 2018. Despite being involved in such activities he continued to serve the ATP board. The three-time Grand Slam champion, Stan Wawrinka joined Andy Murray and has voiced out against Gimelstob.
He feels the ATP board has deliberately ignored this serious matter and the council has to take immediate action to settled the disgraceful moment in the sport of tennis. “Justin Gimelstob has been convicted of a violent assault,” Stan Wawrinka mentioned.

“It simply can not be possible for anyone to condone this type of behavior and worse support it. In any other business or sport, we would not be discussing this. The council ATP need to do something about this and finally end this conversation and shameful period in our great sport.”
Before Stan Wawrinka, Andy Murray was outraged about Gimelstob continuing with his position in the ATP board after engaging himself in the allegations. Also, the former tennis player, Darren Cahill feels, Justin Gimelstob should have been dismissed from his rank months ago.
Besides them, Amelie Mauresmo also revealed her perspective. “I guess that’s not the kind of behavior you want to see from someone in our sport has a big role in any of the ATP, WTA or ITF… like I don’t know how you call these associations, organizations – definitely not. Even though he didn’t. he accepted the thing and said, “yeah I did it”, I don’t think it’s really appropriate for him to stay there,” she said.
Also, the AELTC has confirmed that Justin Gimelstob is barred from Invitational events and from Royal Box during the Wimbledon 2019. On 14th of May, Justin Gimelstob’s continuation in the ATP board will be decided. The World Number one, Novak Djokovic will also be involved in taking the decision. The ESPN analyst, Brad Gilbert might replace Gimelstob in the ATP board.
