In the recently concluded 3rd One Day International in the series between India and Zimbabwe, Kedar Jadhav scored his first ton for India, as they completed a 3-0 whitewash with a 83-run win. The match was being played at the Harare Sports Club, and Jadhav’s century was the 50th ODI century at the venue. The stadium stands at second place, behind Sharjah for the venue which has seen most number of ODI centuries. Kedar Jadhav Biography

Kedar Jadhav was known to be a batsman with a lot of promise. In all honesty, he thrived in first class cricket, particularly in 2013 and 2014. He rarely got a chance in the Test format, owing to the stiff competition.

However, an opportunity arose in limited overs when there was a need for stability in the middle order. Then, he slowly began to worm his way into the team for shorter formats.

It was only in 2016 that Kedar Jadhav finally showed people what he is made of. One shining example was a century against England in 2017.

However, he was soon hobbled by injuries and inconsistent form. In addition to that, as a fielder, he was not as fast on the pitch. To compensate for that, Kedar Jadhav began to work on his off break bowling action.

It wasn't long before it worked wonders for him and IPL teams came knocking.

IPL Career

In 2010, Kedar Jadhav was roped in by the then Delhi Daredevils and made an instant impact. Then, a year later, newcomers, Kochi Tuskers Kerala snapped him up, but only deployed him in 6 matches.

Then, in 2013, he moved back to Delhi franchise and once again got very few opportunities to play. For IPL 2014, he was dropped entirely, but was soon recalled. For 2016 and 2017, Kedar Jadhav was traded to the Royal Challengers. He remained there for two seasons and really came into his own.

Finally, in 2018, he joined the Chennai Super Kings and has been retained for IPL 2019. But 2019 will be his first full season with the team as he picked up a hamstring injury in 2018.

Expectations for IPL 2019

With the Chennai Super Kings eager for a 4th IPL crown. Kedar Jadhav will be sure to add his two bits into the bid. He is an excellent player when he is on song.
