There’s big news coming out of the Spire Motorsports shop as the team recently announced the signing of Chase Purdy in a full-time role for the upcoming NASCAR Truck Series. Purdy drove for Kyle Busch Motorsports last season in the competition earning 11 top-ten finishes and accomplished a career-best finish of P11 on the points table. The team announced that the 24-year-old will drive the #77 truck and will be paired with veteran crew chief Jason Trinchere.
In the official release, Purdy said that he was excited to be joining Spire Motorsports for the 2024 season. The 24-year-old driver spoke about the work the team had put in the last few years. The drivers that have come up through the system have also played a part in convincing the former KBM man to join Spire just a few weeks ahead of the start of the new season.

Spire Motorsports President Doug Duchardt spoke highly of Chase Purdy as a driver who has come into his own in the 2023 Cup Series season. The 24-year-old earned his career-best finish in the competition and recorded several top ten and top-five finishes. It was indeed an eye-catching performance by the youngster and it seems like his efforts have been rewarded.

“Chase Purdy is really coming into his own as a driver and we think pairing him with a crew chief the caliber of Jason Trinchere will elevate his level of competitiveness immediately,” said Doug Duchardt as per the team’s release. “We put a lot of thought into putting Chase together with the right person and at the conclusion of that process, it was very clear that Jason is the person to lead the No. 77 team. This is a combination we expect to set a very high bar in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.”
Trinchere himself expressed his excitement leading up to the 2024 season and at the prospect of him working with the #77 team. He spoke highly of Chase Purdy’s performance the year before. The goal was to build on the 24-year-old’s strong finish in 2023 and start the new season on a high.
“I am excited for 2024 and look forward to working with Chase and everyone at Spire Motorsports. Chase ended the season on a high note, showing speed and consistency, so I look forward to building on that momentum going into the new season,” Trinchere said.
Chase Purdy has pulled off a big move ahead of the new season and is raring to go in 2024. The 24-year-old will be hoping to build on his form from 2023, much like his crew chief said, and hopefully finish in an even higher position in the upcoming Truck Series season.

“I’m really excited to get going on 2024 with Spire Motorsports. Seeing what they’ve done in the last few years and the drivers they’ve had come through being in that system makes me excited for the future. I’m more determined than ever. There are a few new people, Jason Trinchere, obviously being one of them, but, for the most part, we still have our same core group of guys so we’re looking to keep up that momentum from last year. I’m just really eager to get the new season started. I can’t wait to get to work,” he said as per the official release.
