Nick Kyrgios has a ‘bad boy’ attitude in the ATP circuit, which is often criticized by his rivals. Stefanos Tsitsipas was among the first to call it out. Roger Federer has done the same in the past. His attitude does not please the former legends as well. The criticism is not just limited to the tennis fraternity. Kyrgios’ girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi, has also been critical of his on-court antics.

Hatzi further added, “If you’re distracted in some way, he’ll just pick up on it and he’ll target you straight away. Someone that I love is screaming at me even though I’m supporting him.” The Aussie would take his anger out on his box to deal with the pressure. His box might be considerate, but his peers are certainly not happy with what Kyrgios brings to the court.

Stefanos Tsitsipas calls Kyrgios out

In the same Netflix docuseries, Stefanos Tsitsipas criticized the Aussie’s attitude. He said, “He’s brought NBA basketball attitude to tennis. I’d describe it as an uneducated approach to playing tennis. Tennis is a gentleman’s sport. It’s all about respect. He kept putting his towel in my box.”

Things got really heated and ugly when the Greek locked horns with Kyrgios for their third-round encounter at last year’s Wimbledon. He was particularly unimpressed by the Aussie’s mind games. Kyrgios tried to get inside Tsitsipas’ head throughout the course of the game. He pestered the umpire to default Tsitsipas when the Greek slapped a ball into the crowd. To make things worse, Kyrgios would keep putting his towel in Tsitsipas’ box to distract him further.
