Despite not winning an English Premier League medal, Steven Gerrard is winning plaudits for his management skills. The sensational midfielder won the Scottish League with Rangers, ending Celtic’s dominance in Scotland. Hence, Gerrard grabbed world attention and made a well-deserving move to the Premier League side, Aston Villa.

However, WWE superstar Drew McIntyre opened up about his feeling on Steven’s move to Villa. Ahead of WWE’s tour to Manchester, he spoke about the prospect of Gerrard leaving the Rangers and the aftermath.

Drew McIntyre issues a warning to Steven Gerrard

The WWE superstar is a lifelong Rangers fan and talked about the repercussions that Gerrard will have to face, sarcastically.

“We’re doing awesome. I’d love to say we’re doing as well as last year but it’s kind of hard when we didn’t lose a league game last year. We’ve dropped a game, drawn a couple of games, but we’re still killing it. We’re still ahead of where I thought we would be at this point,” said McIntyre.

The superstar loved Gerrard’s management with the club and offered his tributes to the former Liverpool midfielder. Despite that, he spoke about how he would be in front of his house if Gerrard left the club.

“The only thing I have to say is Gerrard better stick around and not be leaving to Aston Villa or something or I will be showing up at his door,” said McIntyre.

In spite of all those warnings, Gerrard moved to Aston Villa and entered the best league in the world. The league comprises talented managers like Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Thomas Tuchel, and the recently appointed Tottenham Hotspur boss, Antonio Conte. Hence, Gerrard would add to that illustrious list of incredible managers and surely have a task on his hands, competing against them.

With Jack Grealish leaving the club for Manchester City, Villa could not replace him with star players, despite bringing in some good recruits. Sadly, they now lie 16th in the table and look set for a long season to battle relegation. Having lost five games on the trot, Gerrard would hope to weave his magic with the club. A very successful club in their yesteryears, Villa has a rich history in England.
