Several USMNT stars have made their way to Europe in recent years. The trend is only continuing as New England Revolution keeper Matt Turner made the switch to Arsenal. However, who is the best out of those stars? Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has the answer.
Some might say that it’s USMNT captain and Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic. While others might go with Borussia Dortmund sensation Giovanni Reyna. However, in the eyes of Allegri, it’s Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie who’s the best American player in Europe.

Massimiliano Allegri thinks Weston McKennie is the best American star
McKennie has certainly been an important player for Juventus ever since his arrival. The hard-working midfielder has scored a lot of important goals for the club, and his work rate is something Allegri appreciates a lot.
The 23-year-old has made a place for himself in a stacked Juventus midfield and will find it harder to do so after the arrivals of Denis Zakaria and Paul Pogba. However, Allegri spoke about McKennie in a press conference and revealed how highly he thinks of the American star.
“McKennie is probably the best American player playing in Europe. I think it’s very important for him to continue showing the high levels that he has at Juve,” Allegri said.

Moreover, McKennie appreciates being at Juventus too. The midfielder was linked with a move to Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur this season, but Allegri ruled it out swiftly.
The USMNT star was happy about the vote of confidence from Allegri and revealed that he feels wanted at Juventus. Moreover, he ruled any speculation about his future out and added that he would be the first one to know about any potential move.

“The words Allegri made me happy. It is important for a player to be in a place where one feels wanted. My agent and I, however, are in close contact, and therefore I would be the first to know if something is true or not,” he said.
