The biggest spectacle in all of football is almost here. The World Cup in Qatar is merely months away now, as teams gear up to do their best in the prestigious competition. The USMNT will indeed do the same after the group stage draw on Friday.
They were drawn in the same group as England and Iran. The fourth team in Group B hasn’t been decided yet as one of Ukraine, Wales, or Scotland will make it to the World Cup after their matches in June. However, it’s going to be a very tough group for the Americans, and they cannot underestimate any team.

The USMNT: Their current form and prospects in the World Cup
Currently, the USMNT is going through a great run of form, despite their loss against Costa Rica in their last match. They beat Panama by a scoreline of 5-1 in the match before that, courtesy of a Christian Pulisic hat trick, and finished in 3rd place in the World Cup Qualifying table.
They accomplished all of this despite the absence of star midfielder, Weston McKennie, who will return next season. As a result, the Americans will fancy their chances of getting out of the group stages in the World Cup.
However, England is a different beast and has a team that looks strong on every part of the pitch. Luckily for them, their first match would be against one of Wales, Ukraine, and Scotland, teams that they are the favorites against. If they win their first match, the momentum could help them reach the knockout stages.

The dates on which the Group stage matches will be held
The USMNT will play their first World Cup match on November 21st, and their second just four days later on November 25th. That will be played against England, and any result would more or less guarantee their qualification.

However, they still have the third match on November 29th against Iran. Under normal circumstances, the USMNT would win that match too, and should qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament. It’ll be interesting to see how it all goes down, as World Cup fever is upon us.
